FPS Next Steps for our Strategic Plan
Since 2011, the Fraser Public School Board has adopted two Strategic Plans. The 2011-2014 Strategic Plan addressed many of the systems needs of our school district. The 2014-2017 Strategic plan supported our redesign efforts to provide a customized learning environment for every student, every day. Both of these plans demonstrate the commitment, vision, and leadership of our Board of Education as they have provided the support and guidance for encouraging us all to think differently about the learning opportunities we provide to our students.
As we begin to develop our next strategic plan, we want to pause and reflect on what educational experiences will prepare our students to be effective lifelong learners and contributors. In this ever-changing world, educational leaders must be more intentional about fostering critical thinking, communication, collaboration, creativity, and other 21st century skills our young people need to thrive in this complex world.
Therefore, we have been asking our teachers, students, Board of Education, and community members to think about what a Fraser graduate should look like. We want to develop a Portrait of a Graduate that defines what skills, attributes and experiences our students need for success after high school. This Portrait will clearly articulate what it takes to get the Fraser handshake at graduation.
Because our current students will be future employees, business owners, elected officials, neighbors, and community members, we know you have a vested interest in helping ensure their success. Which is why we are asking for your help in defining our Fraser portrait, an important document that will be the foundation of our next strategic plan.
As Superintendent, I am incredibly proud of the work we have done thus far, and I am excited for the challenges and opportunities that lie before us as we develop our next strategic plan. It is inspiring to see how far our District has come, and I look forward to working with our Board of Education, staff, students, families, and community members to build upon our vision as we design engaging and invigorating learning experiences for all of our students.
With Fraser Pride,
Ms. Carrie Wozniak,
