Welcome to VoIp Phone System

  • Fraser Public Schools has recently replaced its aged district phone system with a state of the art, unified communications system from ShoreTel.  The new system, delivered and installed by Delta Network Services, provides improved phone reliability, increases classroom security, enhances collaborative communication between teachers and parents, and saves the district money year over year.

The system was designed with centralized, redundant call routing devices and features site survivability mechanisms that enable calls to be sent and received from each school even if power is lost or network fiber connections are lost between buildings.

Every teacher and administrator in the District received a new, gigabit Ethernet enabled handset on their desk – nearly 750 IP telephones in total, as well as voicemail boxes and their own direct dial numbers.  These new handsets can attach directly to desktop computers, using the same network cabling as the wired network.  This eliminates the need and cost for separate wiring systems for phones and network computer devices.

These network-enabled handsets now directly interface to the building’s existing PA systems, allowing teachers to perform an all-page from their classroom which, in the event of an emergency, is a critical feature.  The system is also e911 ready, passing geographically-specific location information for any 911 call made from any District IP phone.

Teachers and administrators alike enjoy the increased productivity benefits of instant voicemail-to-email delivery, enhanced 50-person audio conferencing, and the ability to program the blocking or rerouting of calls to the classroom during instructional time.

The new Unified Communications system and IP-enabled handsets has reduced the District’s annual operating expenses for phone system maintenance.  And, the ShoreTel solution is so intuitive that the District no longer has to pay outside vendors for day to day changes, instead handling typical adds, moves and changes themselves resulting in further savings, year over year.
